A new home listing in Menlo Park has broken the record for the town’s most expensive ever, selling for $26.499 million.
The city once known as “Menlo Dark” in the shadow of its high-profile neighbor Atherton – the most expensive ZIP code in the U.S. – is commanding its own lofty home sales prices these days. “We have seen housing prices rise significantly over the past few years in Menlo Park,” says Judy Citron, who holds the listing with Compass. The highest selling price in the town was a home sold in 2020 for $14.75 million, according to Citron. The same home has now been relisted for $17.499 million. The mansion for sale spans 8,648 square feet with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. It features two master bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a two-person office, two patios and an automatic gate, among many other amenities. A 2,400-square-foot partially finished basement has been designed for an en suite bedroom, a wine cellar and a theater. The vacant adjacent lot is also available for $7.85 million. Menlo Park is home to Meta headquarters and Sand Hill Road, which houses Silicon Valley’s leading venture capital and private equity firms.
