A sprawling estate on the shores of Lake Norman has come on the market for $16 million, making it the most expensive home listing ever recorded in Canopy MLS for the town of Cornelius. That’s according to listing brokerage Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.
The custom-built mansion hit the market yesterday. It’s at the end of Harbor Light Boulevard in The Peninsula, a neighborhood in Cornelius known for its collection of luxury, lakefront homes.
Mecklenburg County property records list the owner as Robert Stevanovski, co-founder of Concord-based marketing firm ACN Inc., and wife Sonya. Those records show the couple bought the 1.4-acre lot in 1997 for $715,500. The home was built in 2006.
Charlotte-based Simonini Builders constructed the home, Premier Sotheby’s said in a press release. Michelle Rhyne of Premier Sotheby’s Cornelius office has the listing .
The opulent mansion boasts more than 15,000 square feet, including six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and four half-bathrooms. Its equipped with full home automation and offers lakefront views from room to room.
The home’s list of high-end features runs the gamut from Schonbek chandeliers, marble/travertine and walnut flooring, custom millwork and mahogany front doors to a large gourmet kitchen, mirrored elevator, safe room, game room, library and fitness center. It spans two stories in addition to a basement.
The property also features multiple terraces, balconies and private patios, in addition to a saltwater pool with glass tile imported from Spain, spa, outdoor kitchen and pool house. It has a five-car garage.
The most expensive home sale on record in Canopy MLS for Cornelius came last November. An 11,774-square-foot home on Jetton Road, also in The Peninsula, topped the charts there when it sold for $7 million.
