Now that football coach Brian Kelly has signed on with Louisiana State University , he’s also settling into a beautiful home in Baton Rouge .
An entity connected to the coach is listed as the buyer of a newly remodeled lakefront mansion. It’s not known how much the former Notre Dame coach paid for the place.
But Kelly’s sweet deal with LSU provided an interest-free $1.2 million house and car loan, according to Sports Illustrated .
The previous owners reportedly purchased the property in 2019 for $1.8 million, then embarked on a major overhaul. While the listing photos show the dwelling prior to the overhaul, a local publication featured the makeover, lauding the “light and bright renovation.” ‘Light and bright renovation’
Changes include an expanded kitchen that now offers water views, a pool, and fresh landscaping.
The old exterior with brown stucco and black railings was also refreshed. In an Instagram post by the contractor, the elegant residence now boasts a white facade and white columns. Trees and plants were added, and gray stone pavers replaced the red-brick walkway.
The updates must have caught the eye of the new head coach, but the home’s location is also ideal.
The home offers “unparalleled views of Tiger Stadium, LSU Memorial Tower, and sunsets,” the listing notes. It is within walking distance to LSU football games.
The property includes a main house and a guest house, with a total 5,000 square feet. The layout features a living area, formal dining room, and “prayer room.” The latter could also work as an office.
Kelly, 60, left Notre Dame as its winningest coach. He signed a 10-year, $95 million contract with LSU, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in college football. He’s also held coaching jobs with Grand Valley State University, Central Michigan University, and the University of Cincinnati.
