Former NHL goalie turned entrepreneur Patrick Dovigi just purchased his second multi-million dollar property in Aspen, Colorado in an off-market deal, according to Pitkin County records.
The Ontarian’s most recent acquisition, a $56.2 million six-bedroom house located on a 1.4 hectare property, has views of downtown Aspen and its famed ski slopes, a pool, a spa, an outdoor living space and a caretaker’s quarters.
According to the the Wall Street Journal, the newly acquired mansion is just a ten minute walk from his record-setting June purchase of less — a property boasting 11 bedrooms on a 1.8 hectare lot.
Dovigi’s short-lived hockey career in the 90’s propelled him into the legacy he has build today. In 2007, the businessman founded Green For Life Environmental Inc., a waste-management service provided to Canadians. His goal, according to an interview in 2015, was “to unlock the potential value hidden in small, mom-and-pop waste companies in Canada, and to conveniently offer bundled environmental services under one company brand.”
After years of acquiring and merging, his company is now valued at $6.5 billion with a personal net worth of $1.08 billion. He also serves as a director on the board of directors for the Ontario Waste Management Association.
