Ryan Zimmerman, the recently retired Washington Nationals standout, has put his former Great Falls mansion in Virginia on the market.
From the framed jerseys on the wall to the professional-level gym with steam room, the two family rooms to the two-story outdoor playhouse, the home screams both professional athlete and resort-level family living.
The 13,232-square-foot, six-bedroom, seven-and-a-half bath home at 524 Innsbruck Ave., built by McLean, Virginia’s Galileo, sits on five acres. It was first listed in April for $8.5 million, according to Realtor.com, removed in June and relisted last week for $7.9 million by Wetherly Barker Hemeon and Karen Barker of the Barker Team at TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, UrbanTurf reported .
Zimmerman, known as Mr. National, was drafted in 2005. He retired from Major League Baseball after the 2021 season having played his entire career for the Nationals. His No. 11 was retired by the team this summer.
His family isn’t leaving town. He recently acquired a newly constructed 20,000-square-foot, 11-bedroom home in McLean, per Realtor.com .
Inside, the Innsbruck Avenue home includes a main-level primary suite with gas fireplace, garden views, private patio, two dressing rooms and en suite bath with large walk-in shower and soaking tub. Also on the main level is a chef’s kitchen with marble island, oak library, two powder rooms, laundry room and side foyer.
Upstairs brings four more bedrooms, a family room, wet bar, second laundry room and office, while the lower level includes a bar, wine cellar, game room, theater room and gym.
The landscaped outdoors were designed by Charles Owen of Fine Landscapes. Outdoor amenities include a large seating area with fireplace, saltwater infinity pool, hot tub, koi pond, large cabana, more laundry facilities, a lawn overlooking English gardens and the playhouse once featured on the TLC show “Charmed Playhouses.” There is also a three-car garage and limestone parking pad.
