The divorce of the billionaire couple has sparked debates over the division of USD 140 billion property owned by Bill Gates and Melinda Gates. The Microsoft founder also owns a ultra-modern home in Washington and this mansion is worth over USD 120 million. The massive estate is named “Xanadu 2.0” and its name is derived from the fictitious estate of the daily series “Citizen Kane”.
Let’s take a look inside one of the most expensive residential places in the world: Spread over an area of 66,000 square feet, the land for this mansion was bought by Bill Gates for around USD 2 million in 1988. Over 300 workers worked to construct the state-of-the-art residence of Bill and Melinda Gates and they took around seven years. Bill Gates’ residence Xanadu 2.0 is called “an earth-sheltered house” as the palatial mansion is partly buried into the hill on which it is located. The house is constructed in such a way that it is cost effective and also eco-friendly. The Gates Estate has 24 bathrooms in total, of which 10 are full baths and 14 are half baths. The house has 7 bedrooms where his wife Melinda and children Jennifer Katherine Gates, Rory John Gates, and Phoebe Adele Gates live. Bill Gates’ residence has a 60-foot pool with fossil-motif floor. Gates has brought in technology under the pool with an underwater music system.
