A Moroccan-inspired mansion on Tampa’s Davis Islands is now listed at $5.25 million.
History: The house was built in 1926 and completed in 1929 for the Hanlon family. And it’s had some other notable owners over the years.

Current owner Michael Martin, who bought the house from Steinbrenner after it sat vacant for five years, has owned the house for 10 years and spent 4.5 years restoring the home for his family.
State of play: When Martin bought the house, it was in need of restoration. He replaced 103 windows, redid the plumbing and electrical, and reconfigured the layout to make larger closets and bathrooms for each of the bedrooms. The property, located at 131 W. Davis Blvd , is spread over 6 lots. At 8,959 square feet, it has 6 bedrooms and 8.5 baths.
Design: The Moroccan design was inspired by Martin’s childhood in Spain and another house he saw in Florida Design, designed by Sean Rush in Palm Beach. Martin then hired Rush to take on this house. Two years of the project were spent picking out and installing almost 9,000 square feet of custom tile imported from Morocco.
Zoom out: Zoom out: The luxury market is booming in south Tampa right now. Listings by the water, in a neighborhood like Davis Islands, are especially hot, co-listing agent Henderson Everett said. Davis Islands is where experts are seeing the quickest sales for the highest prices, he added.
