Billionaire New York Mets owner’s firm buys Delray Beach mansion with full conference room, bowling alley

A firm led by billionaire Steven Cohen , the majority owner of the New York Mets and founder of Point72 Asset Management, and his wife, Alexandra Cohen , paid $21.65 million for a mansion west of Delray Beach.

It was a record price for a home west of Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County, according to the brokers with Douglas Elliman.

The 19,084-square-foot home at 9192 Rockybrook Way in Stone Creek Ranch was sold by 9192 Rockybrook Way LLC, managed by Dr. Michael Gregory , the founder of Scottsdale, Arizona-based Apogee Physicians, to Rockybrook Holdings LLC.

The deed included a note from the homeowners association approving the new owners, listing Rockybrook Holdings LLC in care of Steven and Alexandra Cohen . In addition, the buying LLC’s address was 30 Crown Lane, Greenwich, Connecticut, a home that multiple media outlets have reported is owned by the Cohens.

Senada Adaem of Douglas Elliman represented the seller in the deal, while Gerard Liguori of Premier Estate Properties brought the buyer to the table. The price equated to $1,134 per square foot, which is less than one-third of what mansions are going for in the town of Palm Beach.

While this home may not reside in the high-profile Palm Beach ZIP code, it makes up for it with its sheer size and amenities.

It features seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, a full-sized basketball/tennis court, a summer kitchen, a fountain, a double grand staircase, a glass wine cellar, a 250,000-gallon pool, a loggia, a balcony, a wet bar, a large balcony with a fireplace, a theater room, a full conference room, a sauna, a fitness room, a salon, and a bowling alley. It has a lake on three sides. The living room has 32-foot ceilings and marble floors.

The home was built on the 2.7-acre lot in 2019 by Bradley Cohen , a co-founder and former chief operating officer of Insurance Care Direct, and his wife, Sandra Cohen . They sold it for $19 million in March to Gregory’s LLC, when then it flipped for a gain.

According to Forbes , Steven Cohen is worth $16 billion. He previously led hedge fund SAC Capital before that firm shut down. He is now CEO of New York-based hedge fund Point72 Asset Management, which recently opened an office in Miami. He bought the New York Mets in November 2020 for $2.4 billion. He is chairman and CEO of the MLB team.
