‘Donda’ Producer Cirkut Buys the Ace Family’s Former Los Angeles Mansion

Before they bought a much larger Woodland Hills mansion that’s currently facing foreclosure , YouTube’s famously controversial Ace Family — Austin McBroom and his wife Catherine Paiz, plus their three young children — lived here, in this far smaller but still multimillion-dollar house. McBroom and Paiz rented the property from 2017 through 2018; while it’s not clear exactly how much they paid, the place was last offered at a rental rate of $18,000 per month.

Despite the hefty price, all was not always well during the Ace Family’s stay. First came trespassers and “ ghost sightings ,” both of which were frequently used for clickbait on the family YouTube channel. Then, in summer 2018, the allegedly haunted house was burglarized . While police reports confirm an incident did take place at the home, the line between reality and faked for cameras is notoriously thin with the Ace Family, and online debates raged about whether the burglary had actually happened. (The controversy was only further fueled when McBroom and Paiz posed with their child for photos in front of the home’s broken glass door, which had been smashed by burglars only hours before.)

In any case, McBroom and Paiz have long since vacated the premises, and their landlord has now sold off the mansion for $3.1 million. The buyer is Henry Russell Walter — the music producer better known as Cirkut — who frequently collaborates with Kanye West, Rihanna, Katy Perry and The Weeknd. Presumably Cirkut will eventually share the property with his girlfriend Ava Max, a popular singer known for the hit singles “Sweet but Psycho” and “Kings & Queens.”

Built in the early 2000s and styled like many generically Mediterranean McMansions of that era, the 6,200-square-foot structure packs five ensuite bedrooms and voluminous public rooms into its pale yellow walls and under its red tile roof. There are tile and hardwood floors throughout, plus wrought iron details and a kitchen with granite countertops, a pantry and stainless appliances.

Fully gated and camera-watched for security, the property also features an attached three-car garage and motorcourt, though its best features are undoubtedly its double-wide yard, which spans more than an acre and includes vast grassy lawns, mature palm trees and a children’s playset. There’s also an infinity-edged swimming pool with views over the flat San Fernando Valley basin, as the house is sited on a prominent ridge, at the tail end of a quiet-cut-de-sac.

Originally from Canada, Cirkut has written and produced hit songs with many prominent artists over his decade-long career, including “Wrecking Ball,” by Miley Cyrus, “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming” by The Weeknd, and songs on Kanye West’s Donda album. The 35-year-old also owns two other multimillion-dollar homes in Los Angeles, including a $4.5 million contemporary villa in Studio City and a $4.2 million house in the Hollywood Hills, the former previously owned by “90210” actress Jennie Garth and the latter by “Legally Blonde” actress Ali Larter.
