Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking $7 million for one of his two Los Angeles mansions. Built in 2006, the clapboard-sided traditional last sold back in 2009 for $5.3 million, though the house was never occupied by the music mogul. Instead, the property served as the longtime residence of Diddy’s former girlfriend Kim Porter, the mother of four of his six children. Porter unexpectedly died in the mansion nearly three years ago, back in November 2018.
Listing images reveal the East Coast traditional-style property is vacant, with non-staged interiors completely bare of all furnishings. In fact, the only remnant left of Porter’s life at the house appears to be a dated, circa-2011 Cadillac Escalade still sitting in the driveway.
For privacy, the half-acre estate is walled, fully gated and protected by a security system. It also lies on what is arguably the best street in L.A.’s leafy Toluca Lake neighborhood, where some of the nearest neighbors include Sia, Viola Davis , Steve Carell and Billy Ray Cyrus. Directly across the street is a house currently owned by “Once Upon a Time” star Jennifer Morrison and previously owned by “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman. Immediately next door is a mansion formerly owned by Miley Cyrus and now occupied by oil heiress Nats Getty and her wife, transgender YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous.
As for the Porter estate’s interiors, the listing gently hints that the house may need some cosmetic work, noting that “[This] stunning traditional is ready for the next owner’s updated finishes.” Still, the house is huge and certainly grand. There are nearly 10,000 square feet of living space and six bedrooms, all of them with ensuite bathrooms. Guests will be suitably impressed by the classically glam double-height foyer, which flaunts a crystal chandelier, checkerboard-style marble floors and a curvaceous staircase.
Hardwood floors stained a lustrous ebony run throughout most of the home, and other amenities include a massive living room with a fireplace, a chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line stainless appliances, a screening room and an upstairs primary bedroom suite with a private balcony, fireplace and spa-style bath. Outdoors, gorgeous sycamore trees grace the property, and there are manicured boxwood hedges, a sports court, backyard fireplace, al fresco dining loggia and a dark-bottomed swimming pool joined by a raised spa and Baja sundeck.
With a net worth that reportedly tops $800 million, Diddy can afford just about any house he wants. For now the mogul remains based in Los Angeles, where he owns a $39 million mansion on one of Holmby Hills’ best streets. He’s also got a sizable compound on Miami’s exclusive Star Island, where he owns two side-by-side estates — a 13,000-square-foot mansion acquired way back in 2003 and the $35 million house next door , purchased this summer from Gloria Estefan.
Carl Gambino of Compass has the listing.
