Former Miami Heat center Meyers Leonard and his wife, Elle Leonard , sold their mansion in Miami’s Bay Point neighborhood for $10.89 million.
The 6,819-square-foot home, at 741 Buttonwood Lane, was purchased by Eduardo Marquez , the head of Miami-based Lucky Player Vodka, and his wife, Gabriela Marquez . Citibank awarded a $6 million mortgage to the buyers. The price for the off-market deal equated to $1,597 a square foot.
Built on the 18,847-square-foot lot in 1996, the home features seven bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, marble floors, a pool and a dock with a boat lift. It sits along a canal leading to the Intracoastal Waterway and Biscayne Bay.
The Leonards paid $7.78 million for the home in February 2021, so they made a nice profit.
The Heat traded for the 7-foot-tall Leonard in July 2019 and he helped them reach the 2020 NBA Finals. He re-signed with Miami for a one-year, $9.4 million deal after the season, however he injured his shoulder in January 2021.
Not long after, the Heat traded Leonard to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who waived him days later. He has yet to rejoin an NBA team.
