Recently listed at $12.5M, enormous Northern Michigan home hits auction block

CHARLEVOIX, MI – There’s no telling how much this Northern Michigan mansion will sell for. Located along 200 feet of water frontage on Lake Charlevoix, this 10,000+ square foot estate, recently listed for $12.5 million, is going on the auction block.

Bidding will commence on Tuesday, May 31 at 9:00 a.m. with a starting bid of $2.5 million for this Charlevoix home, located at 08425 Raspberry Lane. The auction ends on Wednesday, June 1 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

The auction is being conducted by luxury real estate auction firm Interluxe. Interested parties can register and take part by clicking here .

Built in 2009, this home was designed by architect Bradley Moore for Frank Macher, a longtime automotive and plastics industry executive. Macher passed away earlier this year, so his trust is now selling the estate via auction.

“We knew for a property of this caliber, we needed a unique marketing approach to reach the right buyers. Interluxe has a proven strategy of marketing high-end, luxury properties and we’re excited to partner with them again,” said listing agent Richard Lobehnerz of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate.

The home is situated on three acres along Lake Charlevoix. It features an outdoor stone fireplace and pavilion overlooking a 600-foot stream with numerous waterfalls flowing into a private pond. The property also comes with a 230-foot permanent dock with two boat lifts and a sun deck.

Inside, there are seven bedrooms, plus eight full and two half bathrooms. One of the visual centerpieces is the 30+ foot spiral staircase.

There’s plenty of technology inside with Creston controls for home automation. There’s also a fully integrated security system, stereo/surround sound throughout and a backup generator.

The master suite has its own spa of sorts with two fireplaces and huge dual closets. The kitchen features Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances connected to the family room, dining area and a sunroom with heated floors, pizza oven and Wolf grill.

The lower walkout level has a theater, home gym, 2,000-bottle wine cellar and a recreation room with a Malaysian-imported bar.

On top of all of that, there’s a separate apartment above the 4.5-car garage that has a full kitchen and living area.

Prospective buyers can view the home on Saturday, May 28 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 29 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. by making an appointment with the Interluxe Auction Manager at (888) 415-5893.
