Billionaire Sells Lakefront Mansion In Highland Park For $3.53 Million

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A local billionaire’s blufftop mansion first listed for sale nearly two years ago sold this week for almost $2 million under its original list price.

The contemporary ranch-style home on 2.6 acres features more than 400 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline and about 13,000 total square feet of living space, according to its listing. “If space and privacy are the new luxuries, then this home checks all the boxes,” it said.

The property includes a lakeside pool and pool house, multiple patios and table land. Sellers Janet and Michael Krasny first listed it for sale in September 2020 with a $5.5 million asking price after purchasing a separate Highland Park home a year earlier, Patch reported.

Mr. Krasny founded the company Computer Discount Warehouse, or CDW, in the 1980s. The firm was later sold for $7.3 billion. He is currently president of Sawdust Investment Management and has a net worth of $1.3 billion , putting him among the 2,200 wealthiest people in the world, according to Forbes. According to county records, the estimated market value of the Krasny’s South Deere Park Road home’s is $3.7 million, and its annual property tax bill is more than $100,000.
