Mark Wahlberg relists Beverly Park mega-mansion at a lower price

Mark Wahlberg has relisted his luxury Beverly Park mansion and is looking at taking a US$8 million haircut in the process.

According to The Dirt , the actor has relisted the property with a new agent and a US$79.5 million asking price, a sharp discount on the US$87.5 million price tag he was hoping for just eight months ago.

Wahlberg and his wife Rhea Durham spent years custom-building the property after purchasing just a vacant block of land for US$8.25 million in 2009. The property boasts a château-inspired main mansion and is spread across a six-acre parcel of land with multiple other structures.

In total there are 12 bedrooms and 20 baths in nearly 2800sq m of living space across multiple structures.

As expected, there are a range of glitzy amenities including a movie theatre, a mirrored gym and a wine cellar with tasting room.

Inside the main mansion, there’s a double-height foyer clad with a bridal staircase leading to formal living and dining rooms and a wood-panelled library.

The gourmet kitchen connects to the family room and there’s also a large master retreat with a fireside sitting area, private balcony, and dual closets and baths.

The grounds mirror a resort and feature manicured gardens, a five-hole golf course and driving range, a tennis court with a viewing platform, a grotto-style pool with waterfalls, a skate park and a guesthouse.

If the property achieves its asking price, it will be the most expensive property ever sold in the gated community, beating out the $US70 million sale of Alec Gores’ home and Adele’s US$58 million purchase of Sylvester Stallone’s former estate.
