Though they acquired the place less than two years ago, married Hollywood stars Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have successfully unloaded their estate in Los Angeles’ posh Encino neighborhood. The already widely-reported deal closed at $15.2 million, one of the biggest prices ever paid for an area home. (While that number is well below the couple’s $16.7 million ask , it’s also a step above the $14.1 million they paid for the place in late 2019.)
What hasn’t been reported yet is that the buyer is also a musician –Russian-born, German-bred Anton Zaslavski, the international superstar DJ better known as Zedd (“Clarity,” “Stay the Night,” “I Want You to Know”). Only 32, Zedd is already reputed to be worth some $50 million , ranking him as one of the wealthiest DJs on the planet.
It’s perhaps not such a surprise that Zedd would be on the hunt for a flashy new L.A. home. His palatial main residence in the mountains above Beverly Hills hit the market back in July, asking $26.5 million. The Architectural Digest-featured property entered escrow with an unknown buyer soon after, but the contract was recently cancelled because “the buyer could not perform,” according to the property’s listing notes. Now back on the market with an unchanged $26.5 million ask, Zedd is still hunting for a new owner — so if you’ve got tens of millions to spare and a hankering for a glassy contemporary house in the hills, the DJ and his team of business managers, accountants and realtors would love to hear from you.
As for Jonas and Turner, they’ve switched coasts — swapping California for Florida — and recently paid $11 million for a contemporary mansion in Miami. They also still own a New York City loft , which the Jonas Brothers musician and his English-born “Game of Thrones” actress wife have been trying to unload for more than a year.
Carl Gambino of Compass held the Encino listing; Ethan Peskowitz and Fred Bernstein of Westside Estate Agency repped the buyer.
