PACIFIC PALISADES, CA —Oscar winner Hilary Swank has put her Pacific Palisades mansion on the market for $10.5 million, according to Observer.com. Swank reportedly purchased the hacienda-style estate for $5.8 million in 2007.
The actress told the Wall Street Journal that she and husband Philip Schneider are moving permanently to their Colorado ranch , where they initially relocated during COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
The couple reportedly has five dogs, two parrots and a horse, and Swank told the Wall Street Journal they want to add more pets.
“We’re looking to get a lot more rescues when we have the time,” Swank said. “We have a nice ranch now that we can bring ’em all.”
The house for sale in Pacific Palisades is a renovated six-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom, 6,700-square-foot home located behind private gates, and it offers impressive ocean views from nearly every room, according to Observer.com. Each bedroom suite has a private balcony or a veranda.
The home features Spanish pavers, wood floors, hand-painted wood-beamed ceilings, built-in bookshelves and fireplaces in the living spaces.
There is a 16-seat movie theater with a lounge and concession stand, a gym, wine cellar/cigar lounge and guest suite.
Described as a “resort-like vacation villa,” the home also has a pool and spa with a fire pit and fully-equipped cabana.
Observer.com reported that Swank previously put the home on the market for $9.5 million in 2012 and 2013, when she was living in France. However, Swank told the Wall Street Journal that she eventually changed her mind and decided not to move to Paris full time.
The publication reported that Swank still owns here apartment in Paris, and the New York Post reported that she also owns a two-bedroom apartment in New York’s West Village, which she purchased for $3.64 million in 2010.
In September, actor Matt Damon sold his Pacific Palisades mansion for $17.9 million, according to Observer.com. He and wife Luciana Barroso initially listed the 13,508-square-foot home for $21 million, but were forced to lower the price. The New York Post reported that the couple moved to Brooklyn.
According to the New York Post, Swank and Damon are just two of several celebrities who recently have left LA . The publication noted that singer Joe Jonas and actress Sophie Turner, who are a couple, sold their LA home in September and moved to Miami, actor Pierce Brosnan left Malibu for Hawaii and actress Shailene Woodley moved from LA to Colorado.
