Paradise Valley mansion sells for record-breaking $21M

Walt Danley and Catherine Jacobson of Walt Danley Christie’s International Real Estate recently sold a $21 million home in Paradise Valley, representing the highest priced home sale in that town.

The agents broke their record of 18 months ago, when they sold a nearby home for $20.9 million. That sale also broke their record $19.25 million home sale from 2019. All three houses are in the Cameldale area of Paradise Valley.

Danley and Jacobson represented the buyers and sellers in all those transactions.

All of those homes sold rather quickly, Danley said.

The home at 6015 E. Cameldale that just sold for $21 million was on the market for 83 days before closing escrow on April 18, he said.

In his 45th year of selling homes, Danley said he’s busier than ever.

“I’ve always said before I retire I would love for the upper end to come into its own,” he said. “This happened. We are so busy in the high end. That’s never happened before in my 45 years. We’ve never hit the high end like this.”

In fact, he said, he and Jacobson have so many buyers looking for huge estates, but there aren’t enough available for them to buy.

“We have buyers, but we don’t have the product,” he said. “We have to call homeowners and ask if they would have an interest in selling. They’re reluctant to sell because they don’t know where they’re going to go.”

The 15,736-square-foot home at 6015 E. Cameldale sits on a 4.27-acre parcel. It was designed by Mark Candelaria and built by Desert Star Construction. The interior design was done by Vallone Design and the landscape architect was Berghoff Design Group.

“It has fabulous views of Camelback Mountain,” Danley said. “It looks like you’re in a French country setting.”

The main house boasts seven bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. The property also has a guest house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a separate casita with one bedroom and one bathroom.
