Robert H. Book , the chairman of Jet Support Services, and his wife, Amy Ann Book , purchased a new Fort Lauderdale mansion for $14 million in cash plus a condo valued at $4 million.
Listing broker Julie Jones-Bernard , of Florida Luxurious Properties, said it was only the second property trade she’s brokered during her career. The deal was for $18 million, and the buyers offered their condo to the sellers as part of the price.
Bacon Properties II LLC, managed by Robert Bacon in Raleigh, North Carolina, sold the 10,686-square-foot home at 200 Fiesta Way to the Books. At the same time, the Books gave Bacon Properties II Unit 2901 in Las Olas Beach Club at 101 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd.
Thomas Zazarino recently constructed the home on a 17,786-square-foot lot along a canal leading to the Intracoastal Waterway. It features seven bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms, an infinity-edge pool, 4,443 square feet of balconies, an elevator, two bars, two summer kitchens, an eight-car garage, a dock and a game room. The architect was Bruce Celenski .
The dock will be important, as the Books own a 154-foot yacht, Book Ends .
Meanwhile, the 5,695-square-foot condo at Las Olas Beach Club will be listed for sale. The Books purchased it for $5.45 million in 2015.
Robert H. Book started his career in student housing and the went into the employment agency business. In 2008, his company acquired Jet Support Services. The Chicago-based company offers jet maintenance, financial services, parts and leasing.
